Professional parenting is a highly specialized program that combines the nurturing and warmth of a family home (like foster care) with a unique blend of services tailored to support each child and family. Every year in Utah there are over 4,000 kids in the foster care system who are unable to live with their families and need loving homes. This program has proven to be one of the best and most stable options for kids. Unlike many other programs, professional parents get extensive support and wrap-around services, and are well compensated; and placements are often long term. Other Ways to Help
While there is a particular need for stable, on-going homes for kids, some people are not in a position to do this. Some professional parents in this situation choose to provide more temporary care, where a child comes and stays with you for a short period of time (generally a day to a few weeks). This is a very flexible option for people in this type of situation. CTA also places adults with disabilities in professional parent homes on a long-term basis as a host home. In addition, we are also always looking for people to work as direct support staff in our support services.
