Learn more about the Support
Online Professional Parent Application
A critical difference between professional parenting and other models (like foster care) is the support provided to the child and family. This often makes all the difference for families. CTA has a broad array of services available to support each child and family. Because each child and family is unique, the specific services a child and family receive are tailored to the unique needs and preferences of that child and family. These services may be simple or intensive, depending on the circumstances. All kids struggle at times, and when they do CTA will ensure that you are not alone. CTA has developed what is likely the broadest array of support services available, both through internal resources and formal community partnerships. Support services are increased whenever needed, and then decreased as challenges resolve.
Common Services and Support for Kids and Families:
- Service coordination
- 24/7 backup support
- Individualized training
- Consultation specific to the child in your home
- Respite
- After-school programs
- Evening programs
- Weekend programs
- Summer / Off-Track programs
- Skills teaching
- Workshops for your own kids
- Emergency respite
- Clinical services (behavior consultation, counseling, psychiatric services, etc.)
One of the most important aspects of the support you will receive is the service coordinator. The service coordinator is someone assigned to you whose primary job is to ensure that your family and the child in your home are doing well. They oversee and coordinate the support services, participate with you in appointments and meetings, walk with you through the steps of the process, and overall work to help ensure that placements are successful.
